If you have to set up a profibus master, the first thing to do is make sure that you have the appropriate .gsd, .gse, .gsf files for your device. Make sure they are in the correct Sycon directory - should be something like c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Hilscher\Sycon\Fieldbus\Profibus\gsd Then hook everything up and power up your network Start a new project in Sycon (Hilscher software) Insert a Master into the network, and click on that Master Save, then Online->Download Online->Automatic Network Scan Save Double click on the first slave device Manually remove all modules Manually insert ONLY the correct modules OK repeat for all slave devices save click on the master Online->Download Online->Start Debug Mode If a station is red, double click on it, then compare configuration If all of the modules are the same in both the top and bottom portions of this window then: Online->Stop Debug Mode Double click on bad slave device Click DPV1 Settings UNCHECK DPV1 activated if it is checked. This cleared up a problem I was having whereby everything showed as correctly configured, but no comms Ok Ok Save Click on the master, then online->Download Check your network again. Online->i/o monitor gives the first 30 or so bytes of data, but the rest is there though it is not shown on this screen. Note: As of the August 27, 2010 firmware the outputs are in the Input2[] structures, and the inputs are in the Output2[] structures. Hopefully fixed soon.

[/quote] These are just names so functionality is not effected. Firmware dated Sept 10th 2010 and newer has the names switched.
