buaame414
I have used the “Power PMAC IDE Removal Tool” to remove installation of Power PMAC ID as Administrator. When I install a new version, it said "power pmac ide version 2 must be uninstalled before version 3 can be installed". How to solve it.
Alex Anikstein
We have been asked a few questions about this so we actually removed the IDE Removal Tool from the File Depot. In general, this tool is not meant to be used to uninstall the IDE, but rather, if any problems occur when uninstalling the IDE to clean out some folders/registry entries that may have otherwise been missed. The correct procedure to uninstall the IDE is to use Add or Remove Programs/Programs and Features, select the IDE, and select uninstall. If you receive an error message indicating that the IDE 2.x is still installed when trying to install IDE 3.x, you should first try to uninstall 2.x through the correct method. However, if it does not show up in that screen, you must first re-install 2.x, then uninstall it properly, to make sure that everything is removed. After re-installing and then uninstalling, it should be fully removed correctly.
