JamesJennings Posted June 5, 2017 Share Posted June 5, 2017 Would it be safe for the acc59e to combine multiple unipolar DAC outputs together in parallel so as to avoid the expence/ complexity of a switching matrix? The idea is that normally only one dac channel at a time would be commanded with the others set to zero. You'll end up with multiple output stages fighting to regulate to a single voltage (usually results in smoke), which you seem to recognize with your comment about a 'switching matrix'. Is there a reason you can't select the highest value in software and write that to a single DAC? Sounds like you aren't concerned about which output gets used at any given time, so putting the 'switching matrix' on the software side might be suitable?
