Problem with PPMAC locking up

JohnR

Recommended Posts

I am having a problem with my PPMAC locking up and requiring a hard re-boot to recover.

The problem happens every time that I try to execute the following line

X(0) Y(0) Z(0) XX(0) YY(0) ZZ(0) A90) B(0) C(0) AA(0) BB(0) CC(0)

I have only #1->X and #2->Y setup in CS 1

Even the command

cpx &1 inc X(0) Y(0) Z(0) XX(0) YY(0) ZZ(0) A(0) B(0) C(0) AA(0) BB(0) CC(0)

All other motors are inactive and No other axes are defined.

When this happens I loose all communication and can not re-establish until a re-boot

John,

Can you please try the same test, just remove your ZZ axis in the command?

Thanks,

Yes, without the ZZ axis everthing seems to be OK.

No lockup.

Can ypu explain why the ZZ does this ?

Thanks for the quick response Sina

Hi John,

We had found a bug with ZZ commands in the release firmware and it has been fixed since. I'm not in the office, but if you contact either Atul Govande or Henry Bausley, they should be able to get you an updated firmware with the required fix.

Regards,
